Handoff seamlessly passes ownership of a hosting package directly to your client’s own 20i account, with out any downtime or data loss.
No more messing around with manual data transfer, FTP, MySQL databases, ZIP files or DNS.
Plus, you’ll receive a £/$25 commission from us when a service you handoff is renewed.
Note: Your client will either need an existing 20i account or to create a free My20i account, and let you know the email address they used to create the account.
How to use Handoff
Click ‘Manage’ under the Manage Hosting icon in My20i. Navigate to the package you want to give them control over, and click ‘Options’
Choose ‘Handoff’ and follow the on-screen instructions to initiate the process.
Simply choose the specifications and optimisations of the Managed Cloud Server for your client.
- Cloud platform: 20iCloud, AWS, GCP
- Server spec/size
- Data centre location
- Server optimisation (PHP, WordPress, Laravel etc.)
- Timeline Backups Pro
Once you’re happy, click ‘Submit’.
Your client will receive an email from us to then log in to their 20i account and complete the purchase (with the server already in their account’s basket).
The Cloud Server is built, and the package gets handed off to your client.

Does this apply to transferring to the unmanaged VPS client?
Hi Jose, Handoff is currently available to migrate a package to our Managed Hosting platform.
Hi, brilliant feature. Just wondering if we can hand-off domains as well. I have clients who have register multiple domains with us and we would like them to take ownership of the same.
Hi Umesh, if the domain is registered with 20i and associated with a hosting package, Handoff will also move the domain registration to the new account.
If the domain doesn’t have a hosting package associated with it, you can follow these steps… Log in to my.20i.com > Visit ‘Manage Domains’ > ‘Manage’ the domain name you wish to transfer > Click ‘Transfer Away’ > Enter the email address of the 20i customer you wish to transfer to.
As I am getting on in years and will need to retire within the next couple of years, this has taken a weight off my mind…
What would be the basic cost to the client after handover?
Hi David, it would be the monthly/annual cost for which ever hosting product they have signed up to use with us.
So as a reseller, we lose our yearly hosting fees and hand them over to you? Why would we want to lose income streams?
Hi Tony, not everyone uses our reseller hosting the same. We’ve got a lot of freelancers/agencies that use our platform to build and launch sites for clients, but they don’t want to manage the hosting on a day to basis for them.
Does this system allow us to “handoff” to other resellers (without the $25 commission)??
