Paul Connor of Northumberland based Ballsy Media shares thoughts and experiences on the value of taking your time and empowering customers.

Ballsy Media serve clients of all industries with showcase examples including Horizon Union, BR Automotive, Berg & Heart and many more.

Please introduce yourself to our audience – who are you, and what do you do?

Hi, I’m Paul, the Creative Director here at Ballsy Media. I design and oversee all projects and manage the company’s day-to-day workload.

We offer a variety of digital services from SEO, web development, branding and graphic design work. However, our main focus is creating visually appealing sites that catch the eye and help the client get recognised online.

What is the secret of your success?

We like to really take the time to get each project right. Every project that we take on needs full attention and commitment. For this reason, we limit the number of projects we take on at a given time.

Working in this way allows for ideas to be visually thrashed out to see what works, and then a linear step-by-step approach is taken to research, design, develop and test on a website page-to-page basis.

This does take extra time but leads to a quality end product that the client and our services are happy with.

I’m a big believer in ‘taking the time to get things right’. You might not be able to offer the quickest lead time, but the project will be more enjoyable and the end result will be worth it!

What do you love about what you do?

I love to create something from scratch out of nowhere. This creative process is exciting and enjoyable as the process organically takes place.

This coupled with client satisfaction at the end of the work always does it for me.

What are some of the challenges that you are facing, and how are you tackling them?

One issue we have encountered is based on the client taking full ownership of the bespoke websites we create for them. In some instances, there might be elements of the website that are not clear to manage without a development background.

We’ve tackled this by providing comprehensive training for each site we create. Following this we have implemented video updates that the client can download and view to understand how to take control of specific areas of the website.

As we all know, websites need to be used as a tool on an ongoing basis and we really try to reinforce this with the training and ongoing support to empower them to harness the power of digital.

How do you use 20i’s Reseller Hosting?

The majority of our websites are hosted through 20i. We find it crucial to be able to support our clients with a full package that includes comprehensive web hosting and 20i fits perfectly into our requirements for this.

We moved over to 20i in 2017. The user interface is very good; support is excellent and they are proactive in implementing updates to the service to ensure their technology is up-to-date.

Overall, we are very happy with the service.

What does the future hold for you and the company?

We like to keep things simple – in our minds just keep doing what we enjoy and do best, which is creating visually appealing websites and providing a high level of customer service.

What advice/wisdom would you like to share with the world?

As mentioned above, I’m a big believer in ‘taking the time to get things right’. You might not be able to offer the quickest lead time, but the project will be more enjoyable and the end result will be worth it!
