Do I have to be living in Mexico to get a .mx domain?
No, no tienes que ser de México. The domain is open to be used by all, but is used mostly by Mexican companies and organisations, as you’d expect.
Will I get a free year for transferring a .mx domain?
You won’t lose any time already paid for on your .mx domain by transferring to 20i and once the domain transfer has completed you’ll get an additional year applied for free!
Should I register other versions of my .mx domain name?
That’s up to you, but to be safe and protect your brand, we’d recommend buying other versions of your company name with different popular top-level domains.
For example, if you had the yourcompany.mx URL, a competitor or criminal could buy yourcompany.me or similar. They could use it to compete, or even worse: fool your customers into being scammed.
How do I transfer my .mx domain to 20i?
It’s simple to transfer a .mx domain to 20i. You’ll need to get the domain name authorisation code from your current provider.
