Thanks for taking the time to do this interview. Please would you introduce yourself to our audience?

Hello! I am Helen; owner of Creative Essence. I have worked in the creative industry for over 24 years.

I set up Creative Essence 11 years ago, and it has gone from strength to strength with over 80 clients.

What does your Creative Essence specialise in? Do you serve any particular market?

I brand a business from beginning to end – from logo, to website, traditional print work and packaging to email marketing.

I have a deep understanding of the importance of logo and brand identity, and make sure everything follows through on each platform.

I have a lot of clients in the hospitality/holiday accommodation sector, so we are getting a lot of recommendations from existing clients.

What is the secret of your success?

My approach is all about offering a friendly, warm, personal service, while providing attention to detail and realistic bespoke packages tailored to each client.

What do you love about what you do?

From being a small child I have always loved being creative. So getting up everyday and being creative in my profession is a dream for me.

I love meeting new people, so getting to know them and their businesses is a real pleasure.

A number of my clients I have worked with for a long number of years, so we have established working friendships.

I get to work with a broad range of businesses; from hotels, asset managers, finance, interior designers, flooring specialists to engineering companies, so I never know what each day is going to bring.

What are some of the difficulties that you face, and how are you overcoming them?

I think after 11 years, it is a challenge to keep things fresh. I have just started branching out into the wedding industry, designing and hand finishing wedding stationery.

It is a new audience to me and one I am looking forward to establishing myself in.

You have been with 20i for quite some time now. What made you stick with us?

99% of my clients are on the 20i hosting platform. 20i is UK based, and a lot of hosting companies are not.

The support is a major factor for me in choosing a hosting company. How quick the responses are and I cannot fault 20i, I get replies to urgent issues within minutes.

This is important to me and my clients as these need to be resolved as quickly as possible. The migration platform for websites is also a useful tool.

The timeline back-ups pro gives me the peace of mind knowing I can restore a site if we have any issues.

The platform seems very stable and the Stack Status page is useful to identify if there are issues straight away.

What does the future hold for Creative Essence?

Hopefully I can grow the business even further and continue to enjoy everything I do on a daily basis.

What advice/wisdom would you like to share with the world?

If you can follow your dreams: take the plunge. When I left my guaranteed paid job to work for myself it was daunting.

But I knew I had just had to take the risk and give it a go, even if it hadn’t worked out.
