.design domain FAQs
Are there any unusual restrictions on the .design domain name?
No, since it was first released in 2015, it’s only been subject to the standard domain name rules that apply to all.
Are there many .design domains left?
Yes - as it’s relatively new, and a relatively ‘niche’ domain, there are still plenty left. It’s used by some when a ‘.com’ or similar has already been taken, but we’d say that if you’re a designer, .design should be your first choice for your website!
How would I transfer my .design domain name to 20i?
You’ll need to get the domain name authorisation code from your current provider to transfer a .design domain to 20i.
Then, you need to search for it in our ‘Transfer a domain’ tool in our control panel, My20i. You can then start the transfer, which can take up to five days (usually less, and your website will remain online).
