Am I eligible for a .gov.uk domain?
Only specific public sector organisations are eligible to apply for .gov.uk domains. Check the gov.uk website for the details: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/check-if-your-organisation-can-get-a-govuk-domain-name
What are the steps to apply for a .gov.uk domain?
If your organisation is eligible you’ll need to follow this process: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-your-govuk-domain-name
After your application has been processed and approved you’ll be given a code. Once you’ve got your code then reach out to us and we’ll take care of the rest.
Please note: Local Government Town or Parish domains must contain the phrase ‘towncouncil’ or ‘parishcouncil’, or end in ‘-tc’ or ‘-pc’ respectively.
How long does it take to get a .gov.uk domain approved?
The .gov.uk Domains Team approves or rejects applications in 5 working days. If there are any missing details on your application then the process will take longer.
The Domains Team sometimes refers applications to the Naming and Approvals Committee. This will add some time in before you’re notified of approval or rejection.
How do I renew .gov.uk domains?
